Hi, I'm Kiya

Product Engineer

I build complete products — the interface people touch, the systems underneath, and the complexity hidden in between. From a streaming platform that meters payment by the second to a canvas tool that exports real React code, I care most about making hard systems feel simple.

Experience

  1. Practicum Teaching Assistant

    2025 — present · work

    Teaching Assistant

Teaching assistant for the Computer Technology Practicum and Programming Algorithm courses.

    • Guide students through C and Python fundamentals in weekly lab sessions
    • Coach algorithmic problem solving — decomposition, tracing, and debugging
    • Run introductory web development material and review student submissions
    • C
    • Python
    • JavaScript
    • HTML
    • CSS
  2. Encode Club — UXMaxx Hackathon

    2026 · hackathon

    Builder, 3-person team

Built Arbor, a pay-per-second streaming platform for independent cinema, in 7 days.

    • Invisible-Web3 UX: Google login, silent Universal Account creation, gasless transactions
    • Hybrid ledger: off-chain per-second metering, on-chain batch settlement
    • Shipped a live testnet MVP with a real licensed-safe film catalog
    • React
    • TypeScript
    • Solidity
    • Postgres
  3. University team projects

    2025 — 2026 · education

    Developer

Team-built products across coursework: an NLP chatbot service and an ML nutrition app.

    • AILY — intent-routed e-commerce chatbot (FastAPI NLP + JavaFX client)
    • Nutrify — food-recognition ML pipeline in a Flutter app
    • Python
    • FastAPI
    • Java
    • Flutter
  4. IoT smart lighting (freelance)

    2025 · project

    IoT Developer

Built a smart lighting automation system on ESP32, connected to Sinric Pro and controllable by voice through Google Assistant.

    • Programmed ESP32 microcontrollers in C++ (Arduino framework) driving relay-switched lighting
    • Integrated Sinric Pro for cloud connectivity and real-time device state sync
    • Wired up Google Assistant so lights respond to hands-free voice commands
    • ESP32
    • C++
    • Arduino
    • Sinric Pro
  5. Smart Eco Wave — PKM 2025 (UKDW)

    2025 · project

    Web Developer

About

Portrait of Kiya

I'm Antonius Kiya Ananda Derron — Kiya (20) — a 5th-semester student and product engineer based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I love building products end-to-end: interfaces, backends, data models, and the crucial parts in between that determine a product's success.

A core pattern in my work is hiding complexity. Arbor hides the blockchain behind a Google login. Lazy Builder hides the gap between design and code behind an interconnected canvas and editor. Nutrify hides nutrition calculations behind a camera. Complex systems, simple interfaces.

Beyond major projects, I build small tools — Telegram bots, automations, and minor utilities that quietly become a seamless part of someone's workflow. I am currently looking for product engineering roles where building complete products is the main focus.
